Nature Camp Bhitarkanika Retreat Overview

India's second largest mangrove ecosystem, Bhitarkanika is a National Park that boasts a network of creeks and canals, flooded by rivers Brahmani, Baitarani, Dhamra and Patasala. This results in a unique and diverse ecosystem that is also home to the largest population of endangered Salt Water Crocodiles in the country. As the apex predator in this region, these crocodiles share their habitat with other reptiles such as water monitor lizards and pythons. In addition to these creatures, Bhitarkanika is also home to various animals like deer, hyenas, wild boar, and migratory birds who flock to the area during winter season, adding color and life to the ecosystem.
